A new build kitchen and utility room in Brampton: white cabinets turned to a trendy charcoal grey using Tikkurila Helmi 30 in Basalt N499, with the dark olive walls changed to a contrasting white in Dulux Absolute White. Everything was primed first with Zinsser B.I.N.

Mist coat on new plaster
New plaster gets a mist coat first, to seal it and stop the paint peeling off.

Fill, sand and make good
After the first coat we fill and sand any holes and imperfections.

Prime bare and damaged timber
Zinsser B.I.N primes the timber and gives the filler a solid base.

Ceilings and coving refreshed
A fresh coat of Tikkurila Anti-Reflex on ceilings and coving gets rid of stains left over the years.

Every area is left clean and tidy, as we found it on arrival.

“On the wardrobe frame and doors after priming we used @littlegreenepaintcompany intelligent satinwood in french grey pale. Once we finally got the old wallpaper off we used filler to make good and straighten out the original wall and caulked up any gaps then using the solvite pink wallpaper paste and @dunelmuk navy woodland wallpaper for the finest finish.”

“Then onto the walls after first coat we filled and sanded any holes and imperfections and used @tikkurila_uk optiva 5 colour matched to ammonite farrow and ball to add some colour without darkening the room.”

While the centre was closed during the pandemic in 2020, we took on its makeover. The building was well loved and well used by the village, which meant it had needed work for many years.

“This job needed lots of prep work to insure it could with hold the demand and constant use of the whole complex. With this being said we were so proud to be part of this project and to give a little back to the Brampton community.”

A lot of hard work went into bringing this wonderful complex back to life, and it can now be enjoyed by the community once again.

Outside, too

Dormers, porches, balustrades, render and window frames. On the Brampton entrance we used Dulux wood undercoat in white, then Dulux exterior satinwood in pure brilliant white to seal the deal.

“Excellent work by Simon and Jack this week on our Kitchen. The kitchen had been destroyed by a water leak and put back together/finished in a rush by insurance the previous year.
Simon managed to bring the finish on the walls/ceilings back up to perfect. They've smoothed over areas that were seemingly beyond repair.
They were both great with our young kids who wanted to see what they were up to. Plus, they left the kitchen in a usable state at the end of each day which meant it didn't have a huge impact on our daily lives!
